The release party for the mega-hit "HAM2" was a laidback affair. There was no alcohol because Steve was on the antibiotics (again), no drugs because Rob had recently finished another stint in rehab (after issues following his toe injury), and because of the whole Covid thing there were only 2 participants (in line with relevant government restrictions in place at the time). Regardless, It was a total rager! After 3 cans of Irn-Bru and rather a few too many fruit pastilles (served in a ceremonial bowl commemorating the time Princess Anne would have had a Bat-Mitzvah (if she was Jewish)) Rob declared it “the best party I’ve been to since one of the parties celebrating something in cricket.” Yes! That good! Steve agreed, saying “it was one of the most inspiring and invigorating experiences of my life, I’ve never felt the energy flowing through my veins more than I did that night, it took me to another place. When I got home I wrote a whole new album whilst on the massive high provided by 1: the lack of savoury foods available, and 2: the poor quality tap water at Rob’s house (a ferret had escaped and died in his water tank).”
